Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #214 Vintage

This week's challenge at Mark's Finest Paper Speedy Fox & Friends is VINTAGE.  Anything Vintage will work for this challenge, so get your stamps out and start stamping!!!
I used Big Boy Toys and Plywood stamp sets to create this card. I have a time piece embossing folder that I used and some old token pieces from a transit line (I used one here). To finish it off I used some decorative brads, some copper wire that I shaped and some twine.  Just have some fun and create a card! There is a prize given out each week.
This is one of my favorite stamp sets because it is so fun to color.   I love old trucks and cars!
One of my favorite places to visit close by is Bodie Historic State Park.  If you ever come to Central California you must visit Yosemite National Park and if you get to the east side of the sierra (just east of Yosemite) go to Bodie.  It was left as it stood in the late 1800's early 1900's after the gold was played out.  People left everything.  Old wagons and even cars out in fields now part of the landscape. Product still on shelves in the general store...furniture still in place...you get the picture.  There is also an old gold mill still there where you can go on a tour (guided by a man dressed in the "time period" and speaking as if he were actually working there at that time) and see  Fascinating!!

North Coast Creations- Ballet

Ballet stamp set by North Coast Creations.
Dies by Spellbinders.  I saw a creation using interlocking die cuts in "Card Maker" magazine.  I wanted something different so I thought I'd give it a try.  It works really well.  The first photo shows the card almost shut tight, the next is almost open and the third is obviously open.
Pearls adorn this creation from the outside top and bottom to each interlocking die cut.

North Coast-Dancing

The Ballet stamp set from North Coast Creations.  These beautiful ballet shoes are great as the main focal point or for a background...I've used them as both here on this card.

June Class-Stamping with Embossing Folders

This is one of three cards I will do in class for June.  We will be doing the "Stamping with Embossing Folder" technique.  If you want to join in the class, call 559 642-6611, The Cat's Meow, or go to her web site at:
www.catsmeowstamps.com.  This class will not be posted on the web site until June 1st but you can call any time.
The other two cards will feature the technique as a background.

Popped up Flutter Fairy

Here is a card that has several layers.  Some are popped up and some are just molded and slightly popped with dimensional glue.  Her little front arm and front foot are the highest layers.  Even some of the butterflies on the top above the sentiment are popped up.
This stamp set is from Tiddly Inks.
Dies are from Spellbinders.

Speedy Fox & Friends #213-Magic Masking Tape

Today's challenge is to use the masking tape technique.  That is to pick up your ink with masking tape and lay it on your project to transfer the ink.  For my card, I masked off my image and laid color down for a background.  I used Lime Green Brilliance at the bottom and Sky Blue Brilliance for the top part.  The blue is hard to see but it is there.  you can use it to lay down color and stamp on top of it too like a silhouette stamp.
I used the Bearded Iris stamp set for today's challenge.
To join the challenge you can click HERE.  There is a prize given out each week and as before, I will give a prize out to a random commenter.  Please leave an email address on your comment so that I can contact you about an address to send your stamp set to.

Color challenge at SplitCoastStampers

This is a card I did for SplitCoastStampers (SCS) for the color challenge.  I couldn't help but think of flowers for these colors and I just happened to dye some seam binding the other day that turned out, well what you see, kind of a cantaloupe color.  The image is from Power Poppy.  It is a digital image that I downloaded and then printed on cardstock.  I used Copics to color and the dies are from Spellbinders.  To find this challenge and others like it, go to: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/index.php this link is for the HOME page where you can find daily challenges.

I let the beautiful paper do the shining this week!

Speedy Fox & Friends #212-No Designer Paper

Isn't this little guy cute!! Love tree frogs!
Well today's challenge is to use no designer paper so I made my own background paper with a butterfly stamp (from the Bearded Iris set) and an embossing folder that looks like the bumps on a frog.  I used VersaMark ink with the butterfly so it just made the paper darker instead of changing the color.  I added a gray panel with a white die cut on top (looks something like a trellis and you know tree frogs are often found climbing on things!)
To join this NO DESIGNER PAPER challenge, click HERE.
Prizes are given out each week.
Stamp sets from Mark's Finest Paper (MFP): May Release, Tree Frogs and Bearded Iris.
This week I have a prize to give out as well...I will chose a random comment number to send a stamp set to.  So, when you leave your comment, please leave an email address as well so that I can contact the winner to get an address for shipping.  Prize stamp set is also from Mark's Finest Paper (one of the new release sets).

Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #210-Flowers

The stamps I used today are from MFP-Amarylis and MFP- Hum along.
This challenge is easy to join as it is called flowers.  I know that everyone has a flower stamp, right?
This is the Amarylis, it comes in a wide variety of colors and some multi-colored, some with stripes down the center (like mine) and some solid.  I looked them up on the web...lots of pictures.
I added some yellow Stickles to the stamen.  These flowers are very bright and bold but that is just the way I like them...lots of bold color!
Join in the fun HERE.
