DRS Challenge 215-Hop, Skip or Jump

Good morning!!
Today we start a new challenge at DRS.  Anything that hops, skips or jumps!

DRS stamps: 407L Praying Bunny, 352F Favorite Easter Peeps
My Favorite Things Stitched Frame die and ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles.
Martha Stewart Grass Border punch,
I used Copics to color except for the sky.  It was done with Sky Blue Brilliance ink and a sponge with a torn piece of paper towel...my favorite cloud method by far.  I used E:50, 51, 53 for the bunny and R:20, 21 for the blush and ears.
Y:00, 11, 15, 35 for the daffodils and YG:21, 03, 23, 17 for the greenery.
I stamped only the Happy Easter from Favorite Easter Peeps to make my sentiment, trimmed and then cut a chevron (fish tail) end and used enamel yellow dots at the other end for embellishments.
My ribbon is white linen seam binding dyed yellow and scrunched up to dry. I tied a double bow and left the ends long then twirled them on the frame.  I threaded a yellow button (because I don't like naked buttons) with yellow embroidery floss and glue it to my bow knot.
I popped up the vanilla frame and then double popped the blue frame.
That is really about it...simple card to make very quickly.
Please come and join us this week for a chance to win a prize from DRS.  Winners are chosen randomly.  For your chance to win and have your card shown on the DRS Blog site, click HERE. ODBD Happy Easter

Good morning!
Today I have another Easter card using the new Flourished Happy Easter, new Easter Egg Background, new Pastel Paper Pack and a favorite, Double Stitch Rectangles
I've stamped the egg background plus the Happy Easter with VersaMagic and sprinkled with white embossing powder and then heat embossed.
I die cut a frame from the plaid and white with the Double Stitch Rectangles and popped them up then added pearl flourishes to embellish.  I finished my card with a large white satin bow.
I used silver and gold foil paper for the egg, frame and border then embossed the white and purple background with two different folders.

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25
The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;
26
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.”’  Numbers 6:24-26

Looking Back at ODBD February Release

Good morning friends!
Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs February 1st Release, It is such a wonderful collection, especially for Easter!! Here is the card I created using the Little Lamb die, The Shepherd stamp set, Fancy Foliage die, Easter Eggs dies, Pastel Paper Pack, and Psalm 23 Script . For more inspiration using the February Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog
Below you'll find the designers links so that you can visit each blog.

I've done another one of my "hinged" gate fold cards today.  You will find directions and dimensions below as well.

I followed my pattern below; on the two front panels and on the inside center panel I added layers of the ODBD decorative paper from the Pastel Paper Pack.  The little lamb (from The Shepherd stamp set) was stamped and die cut 3 times (with the new Little Lamb die), and I colored them all in a slightly different color each.  I used the little flower in the Easter Eggs die to make the tiny flowers using 2 layers each and forming them slightly.  I then added a rhinestone to each center.  I cut the flourish leaves (from Fancy Foliage) out of the light green in the Pastel Paper Pack and then added the flowers to them on both sides.  The shepherds staff was stamped, colored and fussy cut to add to my 23rd Psalm (which is embossed in lavender).

DRS Challenge #214 Color

Good morning!
This week starts with a color challenge at DRS.
Don't these bunnies look so cute!
DRS stamps: New release-702D Cute Bunny with Egg, 352F Favorite Easter Peeps (just the Happy Easter part),  241D Jelly Bean Jumble Background, 396L Vincent Van Bunny

I stamped the Vincent Van Bunny with egg on a piece of white stock. Cut out my frame from white stock with a die from My Favorite Things, I used the center that came from the frame for my main image panel and stamped the  little bunny and the Happy Easter. I stamped the jelly beans on the frame and then I colored my images and cut out the large bunny with egg,  then I assembled my card.
I used foam tape under the frame and under the large bunny. I sponged some Sky Blue Brilliance around the edges of the main image panel and added some mint color ground.  That's it!

ODBDSLC270-Sketch Mid month

Good morning!
Here is another card using this month's challenge sketch.
This time I changed it up a bit.
I've used the new release Many Thanks

I also used the new release Pastel Paper pack, and the tiny flower in new release Easter Eggs as well as some favorites Pretty Posies, Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Stitched Ovals, and Ovals.
I shortened the rectangles by cutting twice, moving the die in a couple inches but making sure the stitch marks matched. For the flowers, I used the smallest Posy die and then sponged lavender ink on the ends, then I used the little flower that comes with the Easter eggs set, formed the flowers and added white Prills to the centers.  The embossing powder I used for my sentiment is a lavender confetti.

New, starting this month:
Participants can use ODBD stamps, North Coast Creations, and Artistic Outpost to  be spotlighted for the Shining the Light challenge and you can enter multiple cards during the month.

A song that is always going through my head these days is "Be Thou My Vision".  It is an old Irish hymn and it goes like this:
1) "Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; naught be all else to me, save that Thou art-
Thou my best thought, by day or by night; waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
2) Be Thou my wisdom, O Thou my true word; I ever with thee and Thou with me, Lord.
Thou my great Father; Thine own may I be, Thou in me dwelling and I one with Thee.
3) Riches I heed not, nor vain, empty praise; Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only first in my heart, high King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.
4) High King of heaven, my victory won, may I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all."
I love this song and the music that goes with it just sets my heart a flame with love and devotion for my God!  It reminds me to keep my focus upon the face of Jesus, where He makes me to even walk on waters and everything becomes still around me.  All the troubles of this world fade away when I am in His presence and looking to Him for my all.
"Be still and KNOW that I am God!" Psalm 46:10

DRS Challenge #213-All Warm or all Cool

Good morning!
This week the challenge is to use all warm colors or all cool colors.
My card today is all cool colors.
I've used DRS stamps: Woven Plaid 613P  and 1096L Leprechaun Gold Guard. My gold is actually very light yellow green with some silver metallic dots to give it some shimmer so officially I did not go over to the warm side.
Here is the color chart that Julie put up on the DRS Blog site.
I did the A-2 panel with my plaid then cut out a frame for the outside and popped it up. I then cut the inside a bit smaller to show some white and glued it flat to the base.  I colored and cut out my image with a die.  His pants have the same basic plaid colors as the background (I drew the plaid on with pens).  I cut out some shamrocks with a die and tied a nice sheer green bow.

DRS Challenge #212 Lucky Charms

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge.  This week at DRS Designs you need to portray your "lucky" charm
or use a charm in some way.
I made some charms with Shrinky Dink (Shrink Plastic).
Under my bow I have strung my shrink plastic charms.  The shamrocks are from a die and the Celtic cross-Infinity Shamrock 281E, is stamped and cut out.  These were all about 4 times the size when they started out.  I punched 1/8" holes at the top of the shamrocks (hoping that would be large enough after shrinking), to thread some floss through for stringing.  That worked just fine, I don't think I would go any smaller.  You can't wait until after shrinking because the plastic gets thicker and much harder.
For the card itself I stamped the new release Tall Shamrocks 681G and Shamrocks and Shenanigans 692F onto white cardstock and colored with Copics- YG03, & YG23. and made a frame with the My Favorite Things rectangle stitched frame.  That is about it except for the sheer ribbon bow.

ODBD February New Release

Good morning friends!
It's time for the new February release Blog Hop at Our Daily Bread Designs!!
There are lots of new stamps and dies this month so
I hope you will enjoy seeing all the designer's samples as you hop along!!

Today my cards are all about Easter!
I heat embossed the Easter Egg Background with white embossing powder then rubbed Wild Plum, Stream and Beach Ball Yellow dye inks over the embossing and wiped off the excess just to add some more fun Easter colors.  The Flourished Happy Easter is heat embossed with white as well and then die cut with the Stitched Oval and framed with white using the Oval die.
I die cut the new Easter Eggs and die cut some coordinating colors for behind (the Easter Eggs die also comes with the small flower die).  I cut the Ornamental Cross from glossy white to give it a new texture/color of white and added a dusty pink acrylic bauble that matches the pastel paper exactly!
For a final touch, I added the sheer white ribbon to my card; I think ribbon and bows just make a card more elegant or fancy, don't you?

My next card is everything Christ centered!  The perfect Lamb of God went to the cross for us.
And on the third day, early in the morning, He rose again!
I've made my card an easel card so that I could have my Easter display and also use the large Happy Easter in all it's flourished beauty showing all at once.
I stamped my sentiments in London Fog because of the gray tones on my little lamb...I just liked it better.  I also used an embossing folder for the top part of the card after stamping the sentiment then added the partial Double Stitched Circle at the bottom (like a sun rise).   I love plaid and this pastel plaid matches perfectly with the pastel solids.  I used the Double Stitched Rectangles and Rectangles for all of my framing on both top and bottom. The Cross was die cut twice, I left the pieces in the bottom (I tape them from behind to make sure they stay in) to make the base for my cross.
These are all wonderful new designs for Easter but there are some other new designs out this month that you will see in the other designer's blogs. Have fun!
