Heartfelt-I Love You Center Step Card

Good morning!

Isn't this Camelia Carnation Collection beautiful??  OMGosh, I love these carnations, they look so real!
I've made a small corsage for this center step card this morning complete with tulle. The paper is so gorgeous and paired with these beautiful borders from the Fleur Border Basics, what else do you need?

I love the eyelet hearts too!
The font on this "I Love You" is a perfect pairing for this heart.

HC PRODUCTS USED

Pearls, Embossing folder, Border punch, Tulle, Salmon Adirondack ink, Mountain Rose Adirondack Ink, Angel Pink Memento, Rouge Chalk Ink, Heavy white card stock, 3M foam tape, green card stock.

For more tips on creating with the Camelia Carnation collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/rhk76SAIgWQ.

Card size: 11” X 5/8” – Center Step card.   Cut and fold a center step card then cut a light green panel to fit each open space (except center), cut another slightly smaller light pink panel for each panel and glue to card base. Make a center panel separately- 4 ¼ X 5 3/8”.  Cover white card stock with decorative paper then die cut two pieces of white card stock with the regular curved die from Fleur Border die then emboss both panels together.  Die cut 2 scallop curved borders and glue to the bottom of each panel and glue down to the left side of the center panel on top of decorative paper.  Stamp I Love You with Rouge Chalk Ink and die cut with the heart die then die cut another white heart with the scallop heart. Use foam tape to stack hearts then foam tape to center panel on left bottom. Add pearls.
Stamp, die cut and sponge several sets of the small Camelia carnations in Rose Bud and in Mountain Rose, sponge with Angel Pink and Salmon.  Use Basic flower mold to ruffle petals and then further ruffle with fingers in a pleating type fashion. Put sets together (usually 4 or 5 for each flower), cover with crystal Clear glitter
Glue center panel onto center step card base and then glue 3 carnation to top right add leaves and white tulle.  Add tiny carnations to the bottom panel on top of white scallop border punch then add pearls between each flower.

Stamp Called You By Name verse with Rouge on white and die cut with large oval set die then mat with pink oval.  Foam tape to center of decorative oval. Did you know?
The Carnation
"Derived from from the Latin "carnis" (flesh) referring to the flower's original pinkish-hued color or "incarnacyon" (incarnation), referring to the incarnation of God-made flesh" with the birth of the baby Lord Jesus.
There are many colors but the "pink carnations carry the greatest significance, beginning with the belief that they first appeared on earth from the Virgin Mary's tears – making them the symbol of a mother's undying love".  https://www.teleflora.com/meaning-of-flowers/carnation
Luke 2:11-12 (NLT)
11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and remember the reason we celebrate Christmas!!

Heartfelt-Wedding Gatefold Easel

Good morning!
Welcome to another week of Heartfelt Inspiration.
This week I have another fun fold I found on Pinterest, a Gatefold Easel card.
The front has some beautiful pink carnations which are so easy to make now with the new shaping molds.
Read on to see.

This is the gatefold view

and the easel

HC PRODUCTS USED

Other Products:
Seam Binding, White Flower Soft, Acetate, Pink glitter gel pen, white card stock, Fun Foam, Copic Markers: RV00, RV02, YG03, YG17, YG63

Video:
For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE.

Instructions:
Card size folded: 5 ¾ X 4 ½.  Start with white card stock 9” X 11 ½” and make score lines along short side at 2 ¼” from both ends, all the way down card stock, turn so long side is up and score at 5 ¾” now cut away top 2 corner pieces (see template) This will leave you with a full gate fold bottom half and just a 4 ½” X 5 ¾” section on top.  At this point score just the top section again at 2 7/8” (half way to center score line).   Now you have the bottom gatefold and top easel fold.  Fold on all score lines and use a bone folder to make a good crease.  Cut another piece of white card stock to make the front part of the easel (as usual for easel cards), 5 ¾” X 4 ½”. This is the panel that you will decorate.
Decorate the easel card front with decorative paper from the Camelia Carnation paper (the bridge scene was used here).  Stamp and die cut the Bride and Groom and place at the bridge.  Add the Festive Holiday Die at the top and the Sweetheart Border at the bottom. Now glue the panel to the easel (The bottom of the panel to the 2 7/8” top portion).
I used another piece of the same paper and decorated the inside flaps and base with the scene.  I cut 2 more Sweetheart Borders, 1 for each flap and then I stamped the sentiment on white and die cut it with the Ovals then matted with the large ovals.  I die cut a piece of Fun Foam to pop up my sentiment so that it could be used as a “catch” for the easel front to set against, see photo.
Now for the front of the gate flaps, I cut 2 large Sweetheart Borders (there are 2 borders dies in that set)from pink and cut it down to fit (it is perfect at the inner straight edge of that border) and then glued them to the front of my “gate” flaps.  Wrap ribbon around card to hold closed tying at the side.
Stamp and die cut the large floral heart from Classic Wedding Roses Stamp and die sets, color with Copic Markers RVOO, RVO2, YG03, YG17, YG63.Do just basic base color on the flowers as they will be covered with 3-D flowers  (I cut another heart from acetate to strengthen as this will only be glued on one side and it is delicate).  Glue half if the heart to just one side of your card, over ribbon (this will also keep ribbon in place when card is opened by recipient).  Now stamp, die cut and sponge Carnations with Rose Bud and Angel Pink Memento Inks.  Use the flower Mold and then use fingers to give a deeper pleat to petals (flower mold will start them by breaking down paper fibers for you).  Glue flowers together making small, medium and large flowers for the heart.  Sponge on glue and sprinkle with Crystal Clear then glue to heart wreath.  Use glue on baby’s breath and put white Flower Soft on that part.  Put pink Prills on the rose buds.

This new carnation will be an instant classic in my book!
Today I have used it with the new foam paper, what fun it was to heat and shape these little blooms!!
This paper collection is amazing too, it reminds me of the famous Butchart Gardens in Victoria.

A window view on lovely gardens

you can even see the bridge where the lovely couple stood for wedding pictures.

Heartfelt- Special Black Friday Debut

Good morning everyone!
Happy Black Friday!
Today is the day we've all been looking forward to and I can't wait to show you what I've been up to for Heartfelt Creations!

It was my pleasure to do this wonderful new album
to showcase not only the beautiful album but also the
fantastic new flower molds Heartfelt Creations now has available.
I was able to use the Floral Basics Shaping Mold on most of the flowers in this book and the Rose Flower Mold for others.
I have a project coming up where I use the Poinsettia Flower Mold and boy is that fantastic!
This book is all about a particular backpacking trip my husband Andy and I took.
We have gone hiking and backpacking for most of our vacations over the last 35 years

Tag journaling: At 8,600 foot elevation, Tuolumne Meadows is the gateway to the Yosemite High Sierra.  It is a stunning wilderness of flowery meadows, snowcapped peaks and oceans of sparkling granite. A great place to cool off escaping the valley heat in summer.  We intentionally live near one of the great wonders of the world, Yosemite.  Everyone has their own special desires of what they want to do and where they want to go, this is our special place.  We often start our back-country adventures from this place called Tuolumne Meadows High Sierra Camp.
Journaling says: Some look for gold but we look for the jewels of the Sierra-wildflowers! Rivers that turn to liquid gold as the sun starts to set and the alpine glow begins.  Every mountain top is aflame with super-natural light during this time of day.
Journaling say:(page 4 top) Casting off a sandy bar with the lodge pole pine forest behind and towering above that the snow covered granite peaks of Cathedral. (page 4 bottom) Tuolumne River sending swiftly flowing snow melt down to pools of ice cold water, a trout's heaven and a trout fisherman's delight! Timber forest open to a snow covered Cathedral Peak.  The fish are not hungry, shy to the lure splash they "run" to hide, move along, try some place else.  Who is persistent? A fisherman, focus and determination in motion...a duck could waddle past and who would notice? A bear could come to see and who would know? What a joy it is when my only concern is "what gear to use", be gentle, catch and release.
(page 5) A voice calls out, "Let's get going", it startles, oh yes, we were on a hike to where?
Journaling says:
Finally on the trail, with every step we leave the cares of life behind us, our
eyes and ears, our senses  begin to open and receive the beauty of the Lord
 in this place.
A Kelty backpack, who knew it could be a trade up for a set of golf clubs, she
hates golf, and I was clueless.   30 plus years of backpacking with a Kelty and
 Robin-priceless!
Time is non-existent for a few days, rested, anxious, and ready.
Fresh on the trail from Soda Springs in Tuolumne Meadows, we are on our way
to Glen Aulin, a flowing  moving active force of water powered by plunging through
the Tuolumne River Canyon, cascades and  waterfalls all along the way.
No phone, no regular worldly cares, concerns or responsibilities.  Now it is the
pleasure of the company with no distractions.  It’s the feeling of the wind, the
scent of the mountains and trees, the sparkling of towering white granite bluffs
and domes, the treasure of the jewels of the Sierra, wildflowers.

How good it is the have a like-minded companion to share such a precious time
and place. Years later with reflection, it is even more wonderful!
Journaling:
Rivers form from High Country glacial lakes Like Mt. Dana and Mt. Lyell, they flow down-hill into this river called Tuolumne in Tuolumne Meadows, we follow the river down the” Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne” as it cascades and falls.  In one place the force of the water creates a most spectacular event (usually only in early spring) called “The Water Wheels”.  The water cascades over rocks with so much force that it creates actual “wheels” of water when it hits some particular rocks in the cascade.  We usually hike there after resting in Glen Aulin, (where our favorite waterfall of the High Country is found).  This photo is at our resting place on the way down to Glen Aulin, it is flat area and a very good place for fishing, taking off boots and refreshing our feet in the ice cold water.
“The mighty Sierra, miles in height…so gloriously colored and so radiant, it seemed not clothed with light but wholly composed of it, like the wall of some celestial city…Then it seemed to me that the Sierra should be called, not the Nevada or Snowy Range, but the Range of Light.” John Muir
Journaling: (page 10 top) Tuolumne River cascades down the river gorge.
(page 10 bottom)
The excitement and thrill of the ascent, rough going at times as there
is no trail, but exhilarating all the same and then the exultation of
the view from the top, so many smiles to What is a smile but the
outward showing of the joy inside of us.  We are tired from the climb
but so happy to be at the top.
Life can be a balancing act, God can tilt it in your favor, GO!
(Page 11)
A place that warms our soul, the higher we go in elevation
the happier we get or is it the lack of oxygen?  I’m sure it
 is this special place!
We were there!

Each page has a scripture printed on the paper.
Journaling: (page 14 top)
Do you want to see greatness and power in motion, stand at
the base of a waterfall, feel and see it!
(Page 15 top)
Life can wear you down, cause soreness and even blisters, what is more pleasant and refreshing
than to stop, take off those boots and feel the coolness of flowing mountain water, wiggle the
toes, let the pebbles of river rock message your feet and be refreshed.
High on the rocky slopes the snow melts, trickles, gathers together and begins to flow
making a creek and then a river.  The earth comes alive as it passes down through canyons,
gorges and meadows then here we are, we are in it, a part of it.
Journaling:
Lounging on a natural rock “chair”
at the base of a 500’ cascading river,
mist is floating on the air and at
the base of this cascade is a deep
 swirling emerald pool of water…
totally irresistible.

Instructions:
Approx. 9” X 8” 3 ring binder Journal Album.  Cover:  8” X 8 ½ piece of Flowering Dogwood trimmed at the bottom with the Sweetheart Border Die.  Under the die cut is a strip of light pink decorative paper.  Photo is framed with Flowering Dogwood paper and blue card stock.  Scripture panel comes from the Daily Blessings Journal pages.  Add flowers formed with the 3-D molds and stylist and filled with Prills or Pearl stamen.  Finish with rhinestone flourishes.  Finish spine with ribbon and tags from the Flowering Dogwood and Birds and Blooms.
Cover inside front and back with Classic Petunia Paper and Border Essentials die cuts.  Stamp Today’s Quotes with Wilted Violet Distress Ink  on Classic Petunia Paper and cut with Circles die then mat with white using the circle dies.  Cut a panel from the Classic Petunia paper and a little tag then attach the little tag with ribbon.  I did my journaling on the computer and printed on transparency.  Back inside in made the same way using the oval dies for sentiment instead of the circles.
Pages:  After matting and applying photos to chosen pages (some are tucked under designs in paper using an X-Acto knife to make slits) I glued paged back to back because I decided not to use the plain lined sides (except page 1).  That also helped to hide my slits in paper where I tucked photos in.  I then chose flowers, birds, animals and borders to decorate each page.  After decorating each page and using the molds for flowers making it quick and easy, I added my journaling to each page.
